My goal then, at the end of this 90 week project, is that I should no longer be perceived as boastful, insensitive, smug, irresponsible, loud and self-satisfied. It’s not going to be easy, but we’ll make it work.

sir, i regret to inform you of a potential catch 22 situation.

by claiming to have succeeded in your goal changing your appearance of being “boastful”, “smug” and “self-satisfied” you will appear to have these attributes, and be perceived by others as such. the assertion that you will “make it work” in itself betrays a certain level of these characteristics as well.

many apologies for raining on your parade, but as a friend i felt it was something i ought to point out

You are right! I have a secret solution to that, but it being secret, I am unable to share it.
