dreams

Wanted to have a master reference post for when I talk about dreams. There are a few stories I bring up repeatedly.

  1. the ‘bass odyssey‘ dream, which i wrote about in 2008 – I remember waking up afterwards feeling like I had aged several years.
  2. when I was working on my self-help book Introspect, I would wake up in the morning reasonably well-rested, shower, have a coffee, and sit down to write. Sometimes in as little as 10-15 minutes, I would be seized with an intense drowsiness, and take a nap on the sofa. During these naps I would have very vivid dreams, which I don’t remember the details of off-hand (I might have notes somewhere). Looking back, I now think that this was happening because my mind was being remodelled from the inside, and the vivid dreams were either a consequence of that remodelling, or literally the act of it.
  3. I remember having some startlingly vivid dreams after reading Alice Miller’s Drama of the Gifted Child. I think this is similar to what happened in 2.

To be updated.
