this might be surprising to some people– i feel like it shouldn’t be, but people get surprised by all sorts of things– i am a collector of images. i’ve actually been for a very long time, since the earliest days that i was on the internet, as a kid. i particularly remember collecting the highest quality gifs i could find of my favorite video games. back then that seemed like a meaningful thing to do. i remember saving those images onto 1.44mb floppy disks and bringing them with me to school. why did i do that? it’s not like i was showing them to anybody else. i just really liked the idea of having those images with me.
i used to be quite a heavy tumblr user, and these days i use pinterest, which is also surprising to some people, because i tweet so much that i come across as a hyperverbal guy (which… i am). but i’ve always had an interest in aesthetics and visuals. words are just one particular medium. i’m interested in all mediums to some degree. i’m not sure if there’s any particular medium i’m not interested in. what is a list of mediums? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_art_media
