Things To Do [2012]

This is it. No more hiding, no more cowering in fear. This is the post- or the series of posts, the system and the philosophy that I have been putting together for months now, possibly even years. It’s not an original idea. (There are no original ideas.)

All this while my blog has been a sort of external hodgepodge summary of my thoughts- not very coherent or cohesive, but something, nevertheless.

Baby steps. I can’t make this amazing with the first step. It’s necessarily going to be messy and imperfect. But I have to start, and I can tidy it up along the way.

Basically, I have a bunch of things I’d like to do, and I’d like to learn how to do them.

These things include:

  • getting really fit,
  • doing a hundred pushups,
  • learning to swim,
  • developing a sound understanding of global economics and financial systems,
  • becoming a fitness or fashion model,
  • starting and owning several businesses,
  • building communities,
  • building a highly successful blog (this one!) with lots of great conversations,
  • reading a tonne of books and learning from them,
  • becoming a great public speaker,
  • writing,
  • recording and selling an album,
  • becoming a YouTube celebrity,
  • having constant conversations on social media with people who are driven and passionate… the list goes on. I want to save the world and do everything.

I need to figure out how to do these things. I need to learn, so that I can know. Eastern philosophy echoes things like- “knowledge becomes really such only when it is assimilated in the mind of the learner and shows in his character.” Chinese philosopher Wan Yang Ming said, “To know and to act are one and the same.”

This isn’t going to make very much sense yet. But this is where I track my journey. Nothing new. It’s what I’ve been doing all along, only a lot more focused. I’ll add something every day. We’ll see.
