2008 Recap

2008 IS OVER, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?

– Lost a friend?

Thankfully, all my friends are still alive this year. I have, unfortunately, had ties severed with some friends due to unfavorable circumstances. I’m not sure if I regret it. It’s not really a big deal, I suppose.

– Stayed single almost the whole year?

YES. I really miss being in a fulfilling, committed relationship.

– Kissed someone new?

Ooh. Yes. πŸ˜€

– Had your heart broken?

I’ve had my low moments, but my heart will go on!

– Had a stalker?

Thankfully not!

– Done something you’ve regretted?

Most definitely. Quite a few things. In quite a few different fields. πŸ˜€

-Lost someone?

If I did, I didn’t notice =\

– Dated a co-worker?

Nah.

– Dated your boss’ daughter/son?

Nah.

– Got fired from your job?

I’m still a student, so thankfully not! I came pretty close though, because I already retained the previous year and I promoted with only fairly decent grades.

– Cut class?

But of course πŸ˜›

– Were involved in something you’ll never forget?

Hmm. Yes.

– Visited a different country?

I don’t think so! My passport is a rather bare one at the moment. This will change in the years to come.

– Cooked a gross meal?

I can’t cook to begin with, unless I have a very clear set of instructions to follow. I don’t experiment in this field yet.

– Lost something important to you?

I lost my armchair earring. Those of you who know me or have met me this year would have noticed that I usually had a chair hanging from my left year. It broke. I miss it. I also lost my wallet, that was rather important.

– Got a gift you adore?

Hmm, I don’t really think so!

– Tripped over a coffee table?

Most definitely, at some point in time. I’m a terrible klutz.

– Dyed your hair?

Nope, I only dyed my hair once and that was in February 07! :O

– Came close to losing your life?

I nearly got killed by a speeding taxi while cycling home. I now understand why people swear at taxi drivers.

– Read a great book?

I should think so, yes! It would be terrible if I went through a whole year without a good read.

– Saw one of your favourite bands/artists live?

I went for Billy Sheehan’s bass clinic, got his autograph and took a photograph with him! That was pretty surreal, because I remember watching him as a kid both before I knew anything about music, and when I knew I wanted to get into it. What a great guy.

– Saw someone famous in person?

See above!

– Did you break up with anyone?

Didn’t get together with anybody in the first place.

Get anything for Valentines Day?

Nah. I thought the balloons and chocolates and all that stuff in school was pretty lame. (No offence to the good intentions behind them!) Every school does it, pretty much because it’s habit/tradition and because Valentine’s Day is far too commercialized anyway. It would be alot sweeter if people chose to buy each other gifts and presents out of their own initiative as opposed to following a trend.

– Did you meet anyone special?

Everybody is special! Just like everybody else!

– Did you fall in love?

I wish.

– Do you like someone right now?

No, actually.

2OO8: Friends and Enemies

– Did you meet any new friends this year?

Not as many as in the last couple of years. Singapore has a limited number of people, I think I’m starting to run out!

– Did you dislike anyone?

I suppose so!

– Did you make any new enemies?

I most definitely pissed several people off. To make up for this, I treat people as I would like to be treated and have nobody on my hitlist πŸ™‚

– Did you resolve any fights?

Verbal yes, physical no.

– Who is your closest friend?

Francesca is the closest, when she’s in Singapore at least! Okay that might have been a little lame. I don’t classify or order my friends in a list.

– Did you grow apart from anyone?

Yes, unfortunately.

– Do you have any regrets when it comes to your friendships?

Ultimately, in the grand scheme of things, no!

2OO8: Your BIRTHDAY!

– Did you have a cake?

Yeah! Chocolate.

– What did you do for your birthday?

I remember, we played a show at DBS Auditorium or somewhere for some sort of charity benefitting girls who were from troubled backgrounds or something like that. Eunice Olsen was there! And then we went to play LAN at Gaming Giants Katong with the rest of the boys. Dear lord.

Did you have a party?

LAN PARTY!

Did you get any presents?

Umm. I think my mates paid for my LAN and my food. My parents and siblings gave me some cash, which I promptly spent.

If so what was the best thing you got?

My friends and family being there for me. It might seem corny, but some people don’t have that and I am thankful that I do.

2OO8: All about YOU

– Did you change at all this year?

Most certainly! Physically, mentally, emotionally…

– Did you dye your hair?

No! I already said that.

– Did you get your hair cut?

Of course! I even got my hair cut by a barber hired by my school. That guy makes a killing.

– Did you change your style?

Style is ever-evolving!

– Were you in school?

Most of the time!

– Did you get good grades?

Nothing to be proud of.

– Did you have a job?

I think playing paid gigs counts as a job! So yes, we did.

– Did you drive?

Nah not yet.

– Did you own a car?

Nope, not anytime soon!

– Did anyone close to you give birth?

My sister gave birth at the end of 2006, in the middle of my O levels. DAMN time flies. Oh, Naomi gave birth this year! I’d like to meet her kid πŸ˜€

– Did you move at all?

I’m moving right now! πŸ˜› But still living in the same house since 1996.

– Did you go on any vacations?

I wish πŸ™

– Would you change anything about yourself now?

I would give myself a strong dose of self-discipline. Everything else will come naturally.

2OO8: Wrap Up.

– Is 2OO8 a good year?

My life has been far too short for me to declare any year particularly good or bad. It’s been alright.

Do you think 2OO9 will top 2OO8?

Yes, most certainly. πŸ˜€
