visa selamat

I just broke into my own house after my parents locked me out. They want me to be back at 10pm every day after I got suspended.

(For those not in the know, I got suspended 3 incidents of latecoming in one term of studying at TPJC. I am muchly blessed.)

So anyway I went to have supper with Po Liang and ran into Martin. I left my place at about 11pm or 12 pm, and I got back at about 2am and found the door locked. This is not uncommon, but usually whoever locked the door leaves the key hanging in a place that we can reach behind the window- it wasn’t there.

So I know for a fact my parents locked me out!

I was contemplating bumming around outside till my maid opened the door, but then she’d freak out and tell my parents too, which wouldn’t be very nice. Same for if I went over to her room and knocked on her window.

My first thought was to sneak into my room, cause I left the window open. My room’s on the second floor. I managed to climb up to the roof thing between the first and second floors, but it was wayyy too unstable and I decided it’d be better to be caught out late then caught on the floor with a broken head.

So I wandered around thinking. Three out of five windows at the ground level have grilles on them, one is the maid’s room and the other is the kitchen, which is locked from the inside. The access to the kitchen is blocked by a large panel which I had to climb over by arranging stools in the area behind it.

So I found the window locked from the inside, as expected, but the little flap on top was slightly open- so slight that even my fingertips couldn’t get in. So I went back to the outside of my house where I found some bamboo poles lying around (they’ve always been there). I grabbed a knife from my dad’s toolbox and sharpened one edge to the point, and brought it back to the window.

I wedged the top of the window flap open with the bamboo pole (breaking it in the process >_>). Then I reached my long long arms in. I couldn’t reach the lock, so I got on a stool for a better angle. Still couldn’t, so I used the knife to try and flick it… and SUCCESS!

I’m home. This feels SWEET.

hehehe.
