{"id":9843,"date":"2012-02-02T11:19:00","date_gmt":"2012-02-02T11:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.visakanv.com\/archives\/2012\/02\/02\/sitting-in-the-silence\/"},"modified":"2012-02-02T11:19:00","modified_gmt":"2012-02-02T11:19:00","slug":"sitting-in-the-silence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.visakanv.com\/archives\/2012\/02\/02\/sitting-in-the-silence\/","title":{"rendered":"sitting in the silence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lately as an atheist I find it exceedingly unnecessarily and even counter-intuitive to even speak of atheism, or of religion.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a treacherous path to walk down, like saying out loud &#8220;I am not insecure!&#8221;, &#8220;I regret nothing!&#8221;, &#8220;I will not fail&#8221;, &#8220;I will not be sad!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And then silence. The silence crushes you with its indifference, and all that you are left with is the vastness of insecurity, of regret, of failure, and sadness.<\/p>\n<p>To speak of one&#8217;s atheism is to walk down that same treacherous path.<\/p>\n<p>True atheism (to me), I feel, transcends the need to draw attention to itself. <\/p>\n<p>It is secure, not not-insecure.<br \/>\nIt is acceptance, not not-regret.<br \/>\nIt is joy, not not-sadness.<br \/>\nIt is love, not not-hate.<\/p>\n<p>True atheism (names, labels, what does it matter?) isn&#8217;t about believing in not-God, it&#8217;s about sitting comfortably in the silence. <\/p>\n<p>And when you stop trying to define it, you realise it is neither one way nor the other, and there is only Love.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lately as an atheist I find it exceedingly unnecessarily and even counter-intuitive to even speak of atheism, or of religion.
