Here’s an analogy for you. Imagine a beautiful arc of stones, held in place by the relationship between the individual components. (I apologize for not actually being able to explain it- I am no physicist. Perhaps I should read up about some.) Concurrently, imagine a tall tower of stones, stable and firm.<\/p>\n
What’s the difference between the two? Both are dignified structures; works of artistry and craftsmanship built with discipline, rigorous standards and even trial-and-error – yet both of them represent very different things. The tower is a symbol of strength, fortitude, stability and constitution. It requires a strong, powerful foundation capable of supporting its peak; the pinnacle of which is it’s crowning glory. The arc, on the other hand, is a symbol of grace, balance, and elegance.<\/p>\n
They’re two different primary ways of looking at things. I’m not saying that towers can’t be elegant or arcs can’t be statuesque; the difference is rather like that between the genders. Men can be feminine and women can be masculine but that’s besides the point!<\/p>\n
If you could describe your goals, your aspirations, your life as a structure, what would it be? A tower? A garden? A bridge? A playground? A junkyard? A monument? A memorial? What would your purpose be?<\/p>\n
