Interesting days.<\/p>\n
My body clock has been screwing up the past couple of weeks with me sleeping at 4am and waking up at 1pm, that sort of thing. Signs that I should be overseas, maybe.<\/p>\n
I slept at 4am of Monday, Nov 26, woke up at 12pm and didn’t sleep until about 32 hours later, at 8pm of Tuesday, Nov 27. Then I slept throughout the night and woke up at 7am today, Wednesday, Nov 28.<\/p>\n
So that’s quite normal, and I’m guessing my body clock is sync-ing back on time.<\/p>\n
Anyway I went back to Shangri-La to work yesterday, which is the reason I didn’t sleep throughout the night. Cause I was up online till 4 am as usual with the crazy people who are always online at that time (Daryl, Tim, Tim, Naomi, etc.) and realised that if I went to bed, I wouldn’t make it on time to work at 7am at Orchard.<\/p>\n
So I stayed up, and ended up late for work anyway because I left too late. I met Boon there, who turned out to be working there as well. Was nice to run into him cause I hadn’t seen him for a couple of days.<\/p>\n
It was my first time working a morning at Shangri-La, and I didn’t know what to expect. Cause I’d been up all day and we were indoors, it felt like night time to me anyway. First thing I did was break a teacup because I was so sleepy. Paiseh lah. Jack and Priscilla were wonderful to work with and Adam was a great supervisor so I had fun and time went along well.<\/p>\n
Interestingly enough the event that day had to do with the Media Development Authority (MDA) and for some reason or another, Ken T happened to be there on attachment for some roadshow-style thing. Had a few laughs with him.<\/p>\n
The more I see it, the more I know for certain that I want to work in the media industry.<\/b> It’s stuff that I am passionate about and stuff that I’m good at. It’s also not so rigid. The hospitality industry is quite meaningful and fun, but I can’t do it 24\/7. I like the fun, slightly odd-ballness of the media\/entertainment\/advertising industry. You get to dress differently, sport long hair, tattooes, whatever. You get to express yourself, and that means alot to me.<\/p>\n
In the hospitality industry, self-expression is frowned upon. In it’s context, I can appreciate and respect that. You learn humility, grace, respect, and become more refined as an individual. I’ve taken alot from the experience, but it doesn’t appeal to me in the long term. I need self-expression, it makes me feel alive.<\/p>\n
It’s 1214pm as I type this. I need to have breakfast out because there’s no food at home (which NEVER happens, in a house with this many people in it), buy bread for my mum, get a haircut and make it to work by 3pm- meaning say, 230pm.<\/p>\n
Gotta plan this out. I’m probably going to rush out to buy bread after this from the convenience store. I want to have chicken rice at the coffeeshop opposite bedok stadium, but that’s further away and I should probably drop by 168 and have prata or something instead.<\/p>\n
I’ll probably pass on the haircut and get it done another day. If I leave in 15 minutes, I might be able to make it to the chicken rice place by 1, eat and get bread by 130, be back by 2, hopefully make it to work on time?<\/p>\n
Decisions, decisions. Time’s running out!<\/p>\n
