My bass amp died. it crackles like a bitch and squeals and shrieks even when all the knobs are at zero.<\/p>\n
It’s a small pussy-sized 10w amp that gets out-bassed by small guitar amps in get-together practice sessions, but it’s all I’ve got.<\/p>\n
I’m told that it’s probably the speaker cone that’s fucked up so I’m going to try the headphone idea, but it’s just sad to be a bass player in an active band without a bass amp to practice with. Le sigh.<\/p>\n
Speaking of which, I long for my new bass. The Visa Bass needs to retire from gigging pretty soon- it’s suffered pretty bad wear and tear and has slight neck warp-age and intonation problems. Plus the strings are getting really old and dead.<\/p>\n

In the mean time, I’m saving for my next acquisition- my first serious bass purchase, a MIA (I think >_>) Squier P\/J. It just felt and sounded so fucking right I had to pay the deposit right there and then. I didn’t even need to see the headstock- I’ve tried Fenders that were never as good. And I recently paid another $50 on top, so I’ve paid $100 of the $395 and there’s $295 left to pay before I can take that baby home.<\/p>\n
I’m quite desperate. I accept donations. I need a new bass; I’m still playing with a beginner’s starter kit! Does that seem fair to you! ;_; Contribute to the Help-Visa-Bring-His-Bass-Home Fund.<\/p>\n
The Band:<\/p>\n
Band is going awesome. Everybody’s just getting better and tighter. I can’t say “by the jam” because we never ever jam. We seem to jam roughly once every two gigs.<\/p>\n
But yeah we’ve come up with some new songs, and improved significantly on our old ones, so DO come and check us out on 03\/03 @ L Cube.<\/p>\n
The Organization:<\/p>\n
Things are going pretty well! I’ve passed tickets to all bands who’re willing to sell them, and we’re getting queries and ticket sales at quite a healthy rate! We’re definitely going to make a profit; so we only really need to worry about making sure the show kicks FUCKING GOOD ASS.<\/p>\n
By the way, we are on the look out for photographers, so if you’re pretty good and wanna photograph bands (and we like your stuff, aha there’s a catch) then we’ll get you in on a media pass!<\/p>\n
