I’ve been sitting next to dinesh for about 3.5 years now. At work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
First met: He emailed me in late 2012 to ask to meet for coffee. Dinesh, computer engineer- I had a stereotype in my mind… he told me about his vision for Dineshsoft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And I have learnt a great many things sitting next to him every day, executing on that vision. I consider myself very privileged to be able to work on his team and to witness him in action. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’ve only met L a couple of times, and we haven’t had the chance to speak much. I think dinesh has sheltered her a little from our boundless, intrusive curiosity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
What I do know is that dinesh has uncommonly high standards when it comes to the people he associates with- which implies that everyone here is in very esteemed company, and Luo Ren especially so. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a boss, dinesh is hyper rational, stoic, zen, questioning <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a friend, dinesh is hyper rational, stoic… <\/p>\n\n\n\n
So I imagine that, as a husband, dinesh would be hyper rational, stoic… <\/p>\n\n\n\n
L I’m sure that must be something you enjoy about him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’m prone to some hyperbolic gestures- something which dinesh usually reminds me to rein in. You can’t verify that, he’d say. What evidence do you have to make such claims? Where’s the data? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But this is one of those social occasions where bold claims are encouraged, so: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To Dinesh and L, I wish you a most optimal marriage with a great Internet connection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
May you constantly, non-trivially recalibrate your expectations of one another. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
May you develop a precise understanding of each other\u2019s hearts, and the cause and effect relationships influencing your mutual happiness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
May you decisively achieve your shared objectives, through careful evaluations of your pros and cons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
May you always find the time to have frequent 1-1s, to get to know each other, over and over again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
May you find in each other comfort, solace and joy in your little corner of the space-time continuum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
