▶️ tracking my YouTube journey and learnings

I signed up for a YouTube account really early on, way back in 2005. I uploaded a handful of poor-quality videos of myself playing guitar, and random attempts at vlogging.

At several points in time I found myself thinking, “Videos are the future. I should get into the habit of making videos.” I made some from time to time. But I never quite kept the habit up. I did accumulate 200+ subscribers slowly over time, though I’m not even sure if they’re all people, or who they are, or why they’re following me.

In the meantime, I grew quite an audience on Twitter. And recently I decided that I was going to start doing book reviews on Twitter. I’ve done three of them so far at the time of this writing. I hit 250 subscribers, and announced that I am making it a goal to “get more YouTube subscribers than Twitter followers” in 2020.

Couple of hours later, I’m at 277 subs. I’m going to keep going, and I’ll update this post with learnings and milestones.

2019-11-28 update: currently at 307 subs
